Join bilum Master Weaver, Vicki Kinai, in this exciting series of workshops that has been developed with the support of the Pacific Women’s Weaving Circle. During this series of seven workshops you will learn the ancient technique of making bilums, a beautifully woven string bag from Papua New Guinea. The workshops will teach you how to roll your own rope and construct your very own bag! Your bilums will then have the opportunity to be part of a larger bilum installation as part of the Contemporary Pacific Arts Festival @ Footscray Community Arts Centre, click here for bookings – spaces are limited!!
